The long-established global yacht brokerage, has been named Best Global Charter Company in Asia, a recognition that underscores the firm’s strengthening influence in a region where demand for superyacht experiences continues to accelerate.
The award, presented at the Yacht Style Awards, arrives as Asia’s charter market broadens beyond its traditional hubs. Destinations such as Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines and the Indian Ocean are drawing longer-range itineraries, supported by growing interest from family offices and first-time charter clients across the region.

Fraser’s expansion in Asia has been shaped in part by the experience of senior brokers such as Jan-Jaap “JJ” Minnema, who has worked closely with clients across the region for more than a decade. JJ’s role in the sale of Illusion Plus — at 88.5 metres, the largest yacht ever built in Asia — remains a pivotal reference point. Built at Pride Mega Yachts in China, Illusion Plus is still seen as a benchmark for what Asian shipyards are capable of delivering at the top end of the market.
Industry analysts note that navigating Asia’s waters requires a very different operational approach compared with Europe or the Caribbean. Varying regulations, seasonal weather and uneven infrastructure demand brokers with regional insight and long-standing relationships — an advantage that Fraser has spent years building through dedicated teams in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.
The company’s leadership says this award is part of a broader shift, reflecting both the maturation of the market and the confidence of a new wave of clients who increasingly begin their yachting journey in Asia rather than abroad. Fraser also recently received separate recognition for brokerage performance under 40 metres in the region, reinforcing its growing footprint.
For now, the win signals a moment of momentum — and a clear indication that Asia is becoming a central pillar of the global charter landscape. As infrastructure expands and new routes open, demand is expected to continue rising.
Ms. Verbrugge said the team is ready for what comes next:
“This award has given us even more energy.” The sentiment captures a wider outlook within Fraser — one that sees Asia not as a secondary territory but as a crucial part of the industry’s future.
